Father-Son Trip

My Dad is an awesome guy.  Every year he would take each one of his sons (we had no sisters... for my female blog followers) on his own Father-Son camping trip.  He would invite one of our friends and his dad to come along as well.  I have so many good memories from those trips. Not only did we bond as father and son, but I got to have a blast playing with a good bud for a weekend while enjoying the outdoors.  It was only fitting that he joined us this year for one of Moses father-son trips.

Moses and I caught a couple of Native Brown Trout that we worked hard for.  I realized that I didn't bring any bait after we hiked a mile to the river.  Fortunately on a previous father-son trip, my buddy Drew taught me how to catch and use grasshoppers as bait. Look out Survivorman, I have some skills. Moses probably had more fun catching the grasshoppers than the fish.
So my friend Drew who brought his two boys called me last week and said "B, did you check the forecast for the Sierras?"  "Nope" I said. Drew explained to me that it is supposed to snow on Sunday. I laughed and said no way, but Moses brought his boots and mittens just in case. Sure enough, just as Drew and I were sitting by the fire having a couple of brews, hail started to come down.  The next morning there was about 3 inches of snow. The boys were pumped as they not only got to go on a fishing trip, but a snow trip as well.

God's country...It is always good being in awe of God's creation. These pictures only capture a glimpse of what it looked like in person.
